We have been cruising in the Caribbean this winter following a voyage from the US with the Caribbean 1500 Rally, if you are new to this blog free to have a look at what we have been doing.  Kinship is currently in Solomons Maryland and available for inspection and sea trials.<\/p>\n

Kinship is a well loved, well maintained cruiser, designed by Robert Perry. With a long waterline and a fairly narrow beam, she is fast and easy to single-hand.  Hull number 19 of just over 50 boats, Kinship is a 1998 Saga 43 built in St Catharines, Ontario. She is currently registered in Canada, she was previously registered in the US. <\/p>\n

Kinship is fully equipped for blue water cruising with full safety equipment and a great energy system for full autonomy.  As we said in a blog post, a Ticket to Anywhere<\/a><\/p>\n

Kinship has had the benefit of a partial refit in 2015-16:<\/a><\/p>\n

Holding<\/a> and water tanks<\/a> replaced

\nCanvas included a full cockpit enclosure with bug screens

The bow head has been converted for storage and workshop with a small bench and vice.
\nThe forward berth is a Pullman and approximately queen size. There are 2 sets of custom sheets for this berth. The berth has 2 lee cloths.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n

The main cabin has 2 good sea berths with lee cloths. The table seats 4 comfortably, 6 is possible and we have managed 8 for drinks.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_1_placeholder\n

There is ample storage in the main cabin, 3 bookshelves, 5 lockers at eyelevel. 4 lockers behind the seats and 2 large lockers under the seats.<\/p>\n

The head is midship, a large separate shower with rotating door and a seat. Storage is in 4 lockers including a wet locker in the shower.  There are hangers for wet gear in the head and shower.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_2_placeholder\n

The galley is L shaped with a double sink with a mixing faucet and a manual fresh water foot pump.<\/p>\n

The aft cabin has a large berth \u2013 approximately king size that is partly under the cockpit.. If you are not too tall you can choose to sleep athwart ships. There is a lee cloth to allow the under cockpit space to be used for storage, leaving a comfortable single berth.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_4_placeholder\n

Cockpit:<\/h3>\n

The Cockpit is roomy with space for 4 to dine at the cockpit table. The table serves as a foot brace at sea. The benches are long and are a comfortable place to sleep. Cockpit cushions were replaced in the fall of 2016.<\/p>\n

There is a full enclosure with bug screens. The cockpit canvas was all new in 2016. There is a canvas companion way cover and 2 shade panels that can be zipped in anywhere in the cockpit. The hard-top dodger has 2 90 watt solar panels, with 2 more on the arch.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The Arch was added in 2016. Built by Doug at Klacko the arch combines towers for the wind gen on one side and the radar and other equipment on the other. The arch includes an excellent dinghy lift.<\/p>\n

The wheel was refinished and the leather grip replaced in 2016.<\/p>\n

Lifelines replaced 2016-17 \u2013 Dynema throughout.
